Q1: What is Vbeam?
A: Vbeam is a Pulsed Dye Laser (PDL) with a 595 nm wavelength that specifically targets red blood cells. Its energy causes dilated blood vessels (the root cause of redness) to gradually fade, without damaging the surrounding skin.
Q2: I currently have inflamed, swollen acne — can I still get Vbeam?
A: Yes, and it’s highly recommended! Vbeam also helps reduce skin inflammation, so swollen, red acne calms down faster and there is less chance of dark red marks being left behind after the acne heals.
Q3: Does Vbeam hurt, and how much downtime is needed?
A: It does not hurt and there is no downtime at all. During treatment, the Dynamic Cooling Device (DCD) continuously protects the skin, giving a cool, soothing sensation, so numbing cream is not required. Afterward, skin may look slightly pink for just 1–2 hours, and you can apply makeup and return to work right away.
Q4: How many sessions are needed to see clear results, and how often can I treat without thinning the skin?
A: Most people start to see improvement from the very first session. For a 75–90% reduction in marks, we recommend a series of 3–5 sessions, spaced 2–4 weeks apart. Vbeam does not thin the skin — instead, it stimulates new collagen, making skin stronger and smoother.
