QS Nd Yag Laser ( Helios III )
QS Nd Yag Laser is a laser procedure in which a beam of light at a specific wavelength is applied to the skin and is absorbed by colored pigments in the skin, including melanin and tattoo pigments.
What is QS Nd Yag Laser used for?
QS Nd Yag Laser is used for removal of brown age spots on the face, chest, hands and arms and for tattoo removal. This laser also removes permanent tattooed makeup. Removal of lip color tattoo and Lip Hyperpigmentation. QS Laser Toning gives fairness, smoothness and gets rid of pigmentation and large pores.
What is Helios III – 4G toning?
The Helios III is the latest, upgraded Q-switch Nd-Yag laser from Laseroptek. Helios III is able to selectively destroy melanin deep inside the dermis to effectively treat severe pigmentation such as ABNOM ( Acquired Bilateral Naevus- Of- Ota like Macule), freckles, and blemishes from trauma or acne without damaging tissues by shortening laser exposure on the skin.
General laser toning uses only two modes (black/blue) at single wavelength (1064nm) that it takes long to treat pigments settled at various depths and the laser toning is not effective for some patients. However, Helios 4G toning uses four modes at two wavelength (1064nm/532nm) that it effectively treats pigments settled at various depths. so it does not only reduce the treatment time but also increase efficacy of the treatment.
Is QS Nd Yag Laser safe?
QS Nd Yag Laser is a safe and effective method of treating age spots and tattoos. It is performed by a physician skilled in the use of lasers.
Possible side effects include blistering and crusting after the treatment.
Is QS Nd Yag Laser painful?
For laser treatment of tattoos, the skin is numbed with a local anesthetic. This ensures patient comfort during the treatment. Small age spots or laser toning may not require a local anesthetic.
How is QS Nd Yag Laser performed?
After the patient has had the local anesthetic, the patient is placed in a comfortable, relaxed position. The QS Nd Yag Laser handpiece is applied to the skin to deliver the laser light. Dark glasses are worn to protect the patient’s eyes from the light.
The length of this treatment varies depending on the size of the area being treated. A few age spots may be lasered in a few minutes; a large tattoo may require 30 minutes or longer.
Instructions for patients after going through the QS Nd Yag Laser treatment:
- The treated area should be kept dry at least within the first 24-72 hours after the laser treatment.
- The prescribed antibiotic ointment should be applied on the treated area for 5-7 days.
- No make-up should be applied on the face for 5-7 days.
